FOOT TRIMMING

Toenail trimming needs to be done on a regular basis, at least every other month. As you can see it is a two person job and easy on a well handled alpaca. If your alpaca is not as well behaved as "Rubens" here, then confine them in a small pen with a companion and take a few moments to let them get settled. Just trim back the excess nail so that it is level with the pad when on the ground.
